Cedric Scott, Jr. is a gifted young man who initially received a degree in chemistry. He became a chemist but longed to become an educator. He taught math and science in the District of Columbia Public Schools for four years before becoming an instructional coach, and finally an assistant principal at the elementary school level. Cedric is a product of the Pittsburgh Public Schools, which is woven into his account of matriculating through school as a student and progressing as a professional educator, all while navigating life’s challenges and what it means to be a young, black male in America. Grade 3 to AP: Memoirs of a Black Male Educator presents a narrative composed of self-realization, opportune circumstance, and deep reflection. Take the journey with Cedric as you read each page.
