Conducted therapy sessions with parents whose children had been taken by Child Protective Services. This experience allowed me to see no matter what the circumstances were all of the parents wanted their kids to be successful even if they weren’t. This was powerful. Also, I learned that majority of the parents hadn’t discussed many of the topics that parents in a functional family would think was a normal conversation.
